opportunity youth ages 16-24 are not in school or working

do not feel prepared for life after high school
These statistics are alarming. Even worse, there are adults who still do not know how to build their credit, apply for an apartment, communicate with others, monitor their personal branding, build a resume, and the list goes on. If we asked you, what do you wish you would have learned BEFORE you graduated high school, I’m sure you would have a list of lessons as well.
Unfortunately, these unknowns are causing problems for our young people, our communities, and our nation. Problems such as teen pregnancy, drug and alcohol use, incarceration, and unemployment can be linked back to a lack of motivation, support, skills, and knowledge. It is possible for all teens to be successful, as Mona is a perfect example of that, but they need help and they need it now!
How we are Solving this Problem?
Inspired by Mona Foundation, founded by Dr. Mona Dixon, is a nonprofit organization that caters to the personal and professional development of teens ages 13-19. Teen Success Academy, the main program under the nonprofit umbrella, provides ongoing programs and support for teens, especially those who need us most.
The purpose of Teen Success Academy is to better prepare teens for life after high school, regardless of what career path they choose to take. Through fun, inspiring, empowering, and interactive workshops and events, teens will: Know how to navigate the college process, understand their finances, explore their career interests, receive internship opportunities, be more involved in their communities, be resilient, and be empowered to dream big, set S.M.A.R.T. goals and soar high!
